Reports have come in from local citizens regarding rain amounts. Some gauges have only shown an inch of rain, while others reached up to five inches of precipitation.
High water in certain areas of Manhattan were reported late Sunday night, but no injuries or major problems as a result. A few cars got stuck in flooding water according to Riley County Police.
Problem areas included Bluemont and Manhattan Avenue and College Heights Road. A Pottawatomie county Sheriff dispatcher indicates Green Valley Road had a short-term problem with flooding, but no major problems resulted.
An Iris advisory was issued during the 10 o’clock hour Sunday night warning of water overflow in some locations, urging motorists to use caution.

Heavy downpours in Manhattan Sunday evening resulted in some scattered street flooding in the city. The most notable flooding was reported at the intersection of Bluemont and Manhattan Avenues near the Kansas State University campus where according to reports at least two cars were stuck in the rushing water. No injuries have been reported as a result of the weather but motorists were being encouraged to avoid the area by Riley County Police who also urged motorists via Twitter not to cross any roads with high water.
