Additional arrests have been made in connection to subjects who were previously arrested for a string of vehicle burglaries that have occurred in the city limits of Manhattan in recent weeks. Riley County Police Department’s Investigations Division throughout the course of routine follow-up interviews and investigation were made aware of two additional suspects in additional crimes unrelated to the previously mentioned vehicle burglaries.
Damian Nicholson, 21, of Fort Rile and Lee Wallingford, 19, of Fort Riley were both arrested yesterday, October 28, 2013, while in Fort Riley, Kansas by investigators. Both subjects were given $2,500.00 bond for theft as they played a role in the illegal acquisition of property that did not belong to them, but were not involved in the vehicle burglaries that caused the arrests of their associates; Cole Smykle and Raymond Burrus.

Riley County Police announce two early morning arrests Sunday in connection with ongoing property crimes.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. that morning Cole Smykle, 21, of Fort Riley and Raymond Burrus, 20, of Junction City were arrested while in the 700 block of Osage in Manhattan. Both subjects were arrested for burglary and interference with law enforcement and then confined at the Riley County Jail on $6,000 bond.
Police are attributing the arrests to their Laser Point Initiative, which received a recent award at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
More than 11 other vehicle burglary investigations were tied to these men and a good portion of past stolen goods were recovered.
