    Fatal Shooting In Junction City

    Junction City Police are investigating a fatal shooting, reported early Tuesday morning. JCPD Lt. Jeff Childs indicates just before 1:30 a.m.,  members of the Junction City Police Department and EMS were dispatched to  110 West 16th Street, Apt. #2 in reference to a home invasion where a subject had been shot.

    Upon arrival contact was made with two victims, one who was transported to the Geary Community Hospital and later pronounced dead. The second victim received minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

    The identity of the deceased victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy has been scheduled.

    Childs says this incident is still under investigation. The Junction City Police Department is encouraging anyone who may have information about this incident to contact the Junction City Police Department at 762-5912 or by calling the Crime Stoppers line at 785-762-TIPS (8477).
