Former Kansas State Basketball player Luis Colon and his Girlfriend were injured in a home invasion at their residence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

According to the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, the 27-year old Colon and 24-year old Elyse Ehlers were tied up and then pistol-whipped by burglars during an altercation early Monday at their home located in Ft. Lauderdale’s downtown area. The couple were able to leap from their second floor balcony to get help according to the Sun-Sentinel.

The incident occurred at around 6:45 a.m. Monday when the intruders broke into the residence. Colon and Ehlers were taken to Broward Health Medical Center but reports say their injuries were not life threatning. Colon played for the Wildcats under former Head Coach Frank Martin and was part of the 2010 squad that reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

A fund to help the couple has been set up at gofundme.com/5w61ds.
