WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Federal prosecutors want to shield some evidence in the case of a Wichita man accused of plotting a suicide bombing at Wichita’s Mid-Continent Airport, where he worked as an avionics technician.
A filing Thursday asks the court to limit who can see formerly classified information that has been declassified in order to prosecute Terry Loewen, 58.
Prosecutors allege Loewen tried to get what he believed was a car bomb onto the tarmac on Dec. 13. Charges include attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted material support to al-Qaida.
The government wants to protect identities of undercover agents and use of sensitive sources and methods.
Prosecutors say Loewen gave the FBI a statement that encompasses five DVDs. It has already disclosed 948 pages of reports and 636 photographs.
