“At this time Coach Brooks has chosen to resign his position as head boys basketball coach at Manhattan High,” MHS athletics director Mike Marsh said in a statement. “We want to thank him for his efforts these past 9 years and wish him the best.”

Brooks was initially suspended by the school on January 31st, and the team has been under the direction of Shane Sieben and Benji George over the last two weeks, compiling a 3-1 record over that time frame.

Brooks was in the midst of his tenth season as the head coach at Manhattan High. He leaves with a record of 115-92 with the Indians program.

Manhattan takes on Shawnee Heights tonight in Topeka.
