The theft of a horse led to a variety of charges against a Hope, Kansas man Saturday afternoon. Kansas State University Police indicate Monte Johnson, 50, apparently tried to steal a horse during the K-State rodeo this past weekend, but the horse was recovered and Johnson now faces several charges.
As previously reported Johnson was taken into custody in the 1400 block of North Manhattan and charged with felony theft, battery, battery against a law enforcement officer, and obstructing legal process. HIs bond was set at six-thousand dollars.
