K-State Baseball Sweeps pair in Texas

After a rough season-opening trip to the West Coast that saw them lose seven out of eight games, the defending Big 12 Champion Kansas State Baseball team seems to have found its game in the Lone Star State.

After their home-opening series at Tointon Family Stadium scheduled for this weekend was cancelled due to inclement weather, the Bat Cats headed south to Abilene, Texas for four games in a three-day period.

On Saturday, K-State won a pair of games defeating Grand Canyon in the afternoon 11-1 as Landon Busch twirled the team’s first complete game since last March. In the nightcap, K-State took care of Missouri State 8-3. Coupled with Friday’s 9-4 win over Grand Canyon, the Wildcats are now on a three-game winning streak.

Kansas State (4-7) will wrap up their Texas trip on Sunday when they face Abilene Christian on their home field. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
