R.J. Santigate and Mitch Meyer had three hits apiece while Landon Busch and four other pitchers limited Northern Colorado to four hits as Kansas State extended its winning streak to 10 games with an 11-0 victory over the Bears in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday evening at Tointon Family Stadium. The Wildcats won the first game earlier Saturday 24-3.

The Bat Cats put this game away early scoring six of the runs in the first three innings. They would add five more runs in their final two at bats paced by a 16-hit attack. The support was more than enough for Busch (2-1) along with Jake Fromson, Jordan Floyd, Ethan Landon and Jake Whaley. Overall the five pitchers allowed just four hits and only issued one walk combined.

For the doubleheader, K-State scored 35 runs and laced 36 hits and shut out an opponent twice in the same series for the first time since 2006 when they accomplished the feat against North Dakota State.

Kansas State (11-7) returns to action when they host Air Force for a two-game midweek series starting Tuesday night at Tointon Family Stadium. It’s the final tune-up before the start of Big 12 play next weekend at Oklahoma.
