Cleion Morton has been named the principal of Northview Elementary School. Morton currently serves as the Principal at Mill Creek Valley Middle School and Junior High in Paxico. She has served in that position since 2007. Prior to that, she was a Reading teacher at Wamego Middle School and served as Assistant Principal at Eisenhower Middle School in Manhattan. She has a B.S. in Secondary Education and a M.S. in Educational Administration and Leadership from Kansas State University. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Educational Administration and Leadership from Kansas State University.

“USD 383 is progressive school district that stays on the cutting edge, but it is obvious that they value the relational component of educating young people,” states Morton. “This is a perfect fit for me.  I am thrilled to be a part of continuing the wonderful things that are happening at Northview and in Manhattan-Ogden USD 383. ”

“We are pleased to announce that Cleion Morton has accepted the position as Northview Elementary School principal beginning in August, “ states Superintendent Bob Shannon. “She brings considerable experience as a classroom teacher and school building leader to Northview.  Cleion is not unfamiliar with USD 383 as she served as the assistant principal at Eisenhower Middle School from 1999 to 2004.  I look forward to Cleion joining our team in a few months.”

Morton will begin her new position on August 1, 2014. She replaces Dr. Shelley Aistrup who is moving away from the area.
