    Kujawa/McNair Sign Letters Of Intent

    A pair of Manhattan high stand out athletes have signed their letters of intent to play collegiate athletics. Jessie Kujawa and Par McNair will be taking a step forward into the world of collegiate athletics. Jessie will be playing volleyball at Fort Hays State while Par will attend Hutchinson Community College to play both basketball and soccer.

    Jessie began her volleyball career in fourth grade. She played with the Konza volleyball club for two years, and then joined the Jets program in eighth grade. She was a member of the 2010 state championship volleyball team, and was named to the Kansas Volleyball Association all academic team. Her sophomore year she was a member of the sub state championship team. She was awarded first team all centennial league honors her junior and senior year. She has been selected to be a member of the Kansas Volleyball Association All-Star volleyball team in June. Her major is undecided but she may pursue a degree in education/special education.

    Par started playing basketball competitively when she was ten. She began playing soccer the summer of her eighth grade year for a local team called Galaxy. Par has played varsity soccer since her sophomore year and since then they have made regional champs twice and a trip to the state tournament.  Her junior year she was named second team all centennial league. Par has played varsity basketball since her freshman year. Making centennial league champs three times, sub state champs twice and two trips to the state tournament. This past season, she was key in helping the basketball team finish fourth at the 6A state tournament. She was a McDonald’s all american nominee, an all class 6A honorable mention, Journal class 6A honorable mention, and all centennial league honorable mention.
