A Kansas City man, charged in connection with a first degree murder case, appeared in Geary County District Court Tuesday.

The incident took place in September of 2013, when two other individuals were charged in the alleged murder of John Burroughs (68).  Prosecuters say the stabbing of Burroughs happened after Anthony Nichols allegedly shot him in the head, but failed to kill him.  Nichols was charged with first degree murder after Burrough’s death, but he also faces a first degree murder charge in Geary County regarding the shooting death of Anthony Nixon (37), of Junction City.  This killing was said to have taken place around the same time period as Burrough’s death.
Nichols’ preliminary hearing was set for June 25th at 10 a.m.
