KMAN has been telling you about the shooting that took place in Overland Park on Sunday. The third and final victim in the shooting was recently identified, and she is the mother of a K-State student.
Terri LaManno is the mother of three children-one of whom is Gian LaManno, a student at Kansas State University’s A.Q Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications and is moving through his advertising sequence.
LaManno was making her weekly visit to see her mother at Village Shalom senior living facility in Overland Park, when she was killed by gunshot. Frazier Glenn Miller is suspected of killing LaManno, and two other victims at the Jewish Community Center, as part of what authorities say was a hate-crime.
Although the suspect is reported to have hated Jewish people, the two victims at the JCC were Methodists, and LaManno was Catholic.
KMAN also received word that the Jewish Community Center was re-opened on Wednesday morning.
And in accordance with Executive Order 10-12, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18 in honor of the three victims, Dr. William Corporon, Reat Griffin Underwood and Terri Lamanno.
“On behalf of the citizens of Kansas, Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer and I offer our condolences to the families and friends of those whose lives were lost in this senseless act of violence,” said Governor Brownback. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”
