    Sunset Zoo’s Party for the Planet

    party for the planet 1In conjunction with Earth Day, which is Tuesday, Sunset Zoo held their annual event-“Party for the Planet”.  The celebration took place from noon-4:30 p.m. on Saturday and featured family-friendly activities that encouraged conservation and preservation of the natural world.

    A kid’s craft station and face painting was available in the Nature Exploration Center.  Guests of all ages enjoyed a beekeeping exhibit, local amphibians, and butterfly-friendly gardening.

    Zoo staff members highlighted animal enrichment activities to educate families and community members.

    Marketing and Development Officer for Sunset Zoo, Ella Casey said this event has been going on for the past 15-20 years, and the warm weather helped to contribute to a successful event.

    Other activities featured during the day included rock climbing, entertainment from a magician and sidewalk chalk drawing.
