Manhattan area city officials, military representatives, and other dignitaries were accompanied by the famous Chick-fil-A cows, with shovels for the official groundbreaking and ribbon cutting of the soon to be constructed stand-alone Chick Fil-A Restaurant on Tuttle Creek Boulevard. Manhattan Convention and Visitor’s bureau Director Karen Hibbard was one of those on hand and commented this is a just a great day as we welcome in another great franchise.

Owner/operator David Hamel is ready to get the business started, although he announced it will likely be mid to late August before the restaurant is ready for business. Hesays he looks forward to bringing a great guest experience to the Manhattan area in the near future.

Manhattan Area chamber of Commerce President Lyle Butler says it’s another national franchise that is very, very popular all across the United States, and that adding the restaurant to the mix in Manhattan is just another sign of the continued growth we see in our community.

Kansas State Football Coach Bill Snyder also showed up for the event, with owner David Hamel having played for the Wildcats in the early 2000’s.
