The K-State track and field continues to have a very busy offseason as members of the squad competed over the weekend at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Current volunteer assistant coaches Erik Kynard and Amanda Bingson highlighted the weekend for the K-State nation.
Kynard went on the win his third career USA high jump title. He was the only athlete to clear the bar at 2.35 meters. He’s now won the high jump title in three straight National Championship meets dating back to last June. Kynard is currently ranked fourth in the world in the men’s high jump.
Former UNLV Rebel and volunteer assistant coach Amanda Bingson was able to capture first place in the girl’s hammer throw. There were 18 members competing in the event, and Bingson was the only competitor to throw beyond 75 meters.
Coming up for the K-State Track and Field program is the IAAF World Junior Championships in Oregon where a select few Wildcats will be competing in the events.
