The Kansas State Police Department continues to warn students and public about possible active phone scams in the area.
The Kansas State Division of Communications and Marketing says victims of these phone scams report to be Kansas State police officers, calling to collect past and present debts and fines.
K-State says they will never call to collect fines or past debts to the university. Anyone receiving calls like the scam described should never provide personal information, and instead call the K-State Police Department immediately at 785-532-6412.
