Manhattan high basketball stays perfect on Tuesday night at the MHS gym, sweeping the Great Bend Panthers.
Led by 17 points from sophomore Gigi McAtee, the MHS girls ran its record to 3-0 with a strong second half effort to beat the Lady Panthers 72-57.
Joining McAtee in double figures was seniors Savannah Roberts and Caroline Ballard with 14 and 10 points respectively. Nine players overall reach the scorers book for the Indians.
Benji George is still perfect in his first season as the head coach for the MHS boys, the Indians runaway with a 61-45 win over the Panthers. The Indians (3-0) were led by junior Gabe Awbrey with a game high 22 points. Awbrey is averaging 21 points per game through the first three games of the season.
Senior Pierson McAtee also in double figures with 12 points. The Indians poured it on in the second half connecting on 17 of 31 shots from the field for 55%.
MHS will close out 2014 on Friday night at home against rival Junction City.
