Ashia Woods scored 21 points and Kansas State tied the score after trailing by 11 points at halftime but in the end, Iowa State was able to prevail for a 60-55 win Saturday at Hilton Coliseum in Ames in the Big 12 opener for both teams.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early six point lead in the game’s three minutes but after only making 10 of 29 Field Goal attempts fell behind by as many as 13 points. Three Cyclone players were in double figures led by Brynn Williamson with 15 points, Fallon Ellis added 11 and Emily Durr contributed 10.

Kansas State (10-2, 0-1) saw its four-game winning streak come to an end. The Wildcats will have their first home conference action on Tuesday when Baylor visits Bramlage Coliseum for a 7 p.m. Tipoff.
