JunctionCityPoliceUpdate at 9 a.m. on Tuesday:

Officers responded to Windwood Drive in Junction City.
Upon arrival, it was decided to contact the Kansas State Fire Marshall to assist in the investigation.  The Riley County Police Department Bomb Squad was then contacted as well.
Several items suspected for the use of making explosives were located and collected by the bomb squad.  They were able to dispose of the suspicious items.  The incident wrapped up around 11:30 that evening.
The Junction City Police Department would like to thank a couple of organizations in addition to the ones previously listed:  the Riley County Fire Department , the Riley County Haz Mat Team, the FBI, the Junction City Fire Department and the Geary County Sheriff’s Department.

    Original Story:

Junction City police are searching the home of Jacob A. Cameron of Junction City for possible explosive devices. The 22 year-old was arrested January 23rd on charges of criminal use of explosives, aggravated assault, attempted aggravated arson, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, damage to property, battery, domestic battery, two counts of criminal threat, and two counts of aggravated assault. On Monday, January 26th, Junction City police obtained a search warrant to search Cameron’s home for explosive devices. Upon searching the residence, police noticed suspicious devices. The Riley County Bomb Squad was called to determine if the devices posed a threat. The Kansas State Fire Marshall Office also assisted in the investigation. Police cordoned off the area and the case remains under investigation. Cameron is being held on $50,000 bond.
