Manhattan/Ogden USD 383 School Board President Leah Fliter is running for re-election to the Board of Education. Fliter announced her intentions Friday morning. She has been on the board for about four years.
But Fliter points to another experience which prepared her to serve on the board. Prior to that, Fliter also spent four years covering the school board as a reporter for the Manhattan Mercury.
The USD 383 School Board President says there’s a lot of change ahead for education, pointing to Thursday night’s State of the State Address by Governor Sam Brownback. She reminds us when she ran for election for the first time four years ago, a major part of her platform was to help support teachers as she says “they are our partners” and feels she’s accomplished that.
Fliter intends to officially file in the next few days.
