A Manhattan woman made first appearance on a variety of drug-related charges in Riley County District Court Wednesday afternoon. Katherine Nguyen faces counts which include felonies of unlawful possesion of methamphetamine and Oxycontin and misdemeanor counts involving Alprazolam, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Riley County District Court Judge John Bosch granted a public defender in Nguyen’s case, with next appearance before Judge William Malcolm on March 3 at 1 p.m. Recovery of Nguyen’s phone and laptop were also discussed and Judge Bosch advised her to contact her attorney.

Nguyen was arrested in connection with a Februry third case, involving three other individuals. Riley County Police announced at the time search warrants which were conducted at 1521 Leavenworth Street Apartment #5, 309 Kearney Street,  and a storage unit at 425 McCall Road. The result of that total drug investigation netted approximately 14 pounds of marijuana, one-half pound of meth, 2,000 prescription pills, five firearms, and approximately $51,000 in U-S currency.
