By KMAN Staff on February 23, 2015 Riley County

Riley County Commission Office Building2014 real estate market trends have been calculated, and Riley County Appraisal Analyst, Allen Todd presented the numbers to county commissioners during their Monday meeting.

One of the questions Todd gets asked quite frequently is “how many sales were there in the county?”  Todd said the number of residential sales went up about 3%.

As much as people want to know this number, Todd said there are other figures his department looks at that are much more significant.  One is the average sale price of a home.  2014’s average sale price was $194,600, which is up from the previous year’s figure of $194,400.  The median sale price number also increased from $172,000 to $175,000.

Upcoming events were highlighted during the meeting’s press conference.

County Clerk, Rich Vargo pointed out tomorrow’s Blue Valley Randolph USD 384 election is quickly approaching.  He said the mail ballot election has experienced good participation so far.  All ballots are due by noon on Tuesday and results are expected by the end of the day.
