A Manhattan man was arrested by Riley County Police Wednesday afternoon on a warrant originating in Junction City. Robert Black, 26, was taken into custody at his home in the 1100 block of Vattier Street at approximately 3:45 PM Wednesday. Black was arrested on a warrant for parole violation, and was given “no bond.”

Riley County Police are investigating a case involving a local elementary school. According to RCPD Public Information Officer Mat Droge, vaguely worded comments were received by USD 383 school officials in the 2700 block of Hobbs Drive, the location of Marlatt Elementary School.
According to Droge here were no specific threats made to the school or staff. He says regardless, the Riley County Police Department plans to investigate the matter.
