Page out as Wamego Girls Coach after season

Wamego High Schools Girl’s Basketball coach Jim Page will be relieved of his duties at the end of the 2014-2015 season.

The USD 320 Board of Education voted unanimously at their Tuesday evening meeting to terminate his contract.

Board President Richard Weixelman said: “While the USD 320 Board of Education supports the suspension given by the administration, in the best interest of the basketball program, Mr. Page will be allowed to coach through the current basketball season”.

Officials had suspended Page earlier in the week after five varsity players quit the team.

Page led Wamego to the Class 4A State Championship during the 2012-13 season and a runner-up finish last season.
