    KHP Investigates Area Injury Accidents

    More details have been released regarding an early Sunday morning accident in Riley County, previously reported as having occurred Saturday morning. Shane Hancock, 23, of Manhattan was westbound in the 700 block of Allison Road at about one a.m. Sunday, when the 2005 Honda he was driving failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and came to rest in a ravine on its top.

    The Kansas Highway Patrol lists Hancock as having a possible injury. Two occupants were listed as injured, including  Joshua White, 33, of Salina and Shanel Garnett, 24, of Manhattan. White was reportedly taken to Mercy Regional Health Center. Hancock had a seat belt on but the other two did not.

    A couple of area accidents with injuries were reported by the Kansas Highway Patrol this past weekend.
    A 28-year -old Junction City man was taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka following an accident Sunday morning in Wabaunsee County. Russell Coleman was driving a 2008 Jeep westbound on K-18, one mile east of Wabaunsee, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment. The accident was reported at about four a.m. Coleman was wearing a seatbelt.
    And an injury accident was reported in Riley County early Saturday morning at 700 Allison Road just west of Canyone road. A 2005 Honda accord was involved but driver information was not available pending further investigation.
