As of 5 pm the Riley County Police Department is reporting some metrics for the celebration so far:

70-100 citizen generated calls- These are calls tied to issues such as noise, and parking which is reported by the general population to authorities.

60-65 Officer calls for service-  Officers requested issues for the day.

11 Arrests –  RCPD public information officer Matt Droge says these are primarily alcohol related, but there have been other drugs involved as well… including adderall and marijuana.

According to officer Droge there are seven police departments working together to police the event, and “the ultimate goal is to provide safety to the public”.  Officer Droge says the outside help is appreciated, and they couldn’t conduct the current operation without their support.

Officers are currently working 12 hour shifts, and covering the entire community with concentrations centered on Aggieville.  A full release of metrics from law enforcement is expected to be available on Tuesday afternoon, and police are asking the public to celebrate responsibly to ensure the safety of the community.
