Thursday evening the Manhattan Convention and Visitors Bureau held the 7th annual Get Around 2 It! outdoor event, showcasing about 40 businesses promoting local family and outdoor events at the Blue Earth Plaza downtown.

This event was in celebration of National Tourism Week, according to Bureau Director Karen Hibbard.

“We’re great at procrastinating and saying, you know, I’m going to go do that someday when I get around to it. That’s why we’ve put this together.”

Organizations such as the Sunset Zoo and state park services had booths set up, as well as businesses ranging from the Manhattan Running Company to the Wildwood Outdoor Adventure Park.

For more event details and planning ideas, go to the Bureau’s site at www.visitmanhattanks.org.
