    Updated 7 a.m. Wednesday:

No official connection has been made, but a 20-year-old Wamego man faces a variety of charges after his arrest at about 10:45 Tuesday night in the 600 block of Vattier. KMAN reported a traffic stop in that location at about 9:30 p.m., with an occupant reportedly fleeing on foot.

Wednesday morning’s Riley County Police arrest report lists the arrest of Todd Collette and five drug-related charges, with a bond of $18,000.

Reports Tuesday night indicated an occupant of the vehicle that was stopped fled on foot and a chase ensued as police attempted to track the suspect into a nearby area. Other sources indicate the person who fled was someone other than Collette who was in the vehicle. Police found a weapon in the car, and an unspecified amount of methamphetamine.

Again,no official connection has been made with Collette’s arrest–RCPD Public Information Officer Matthew Droge was expected to have more details about the incident later Wednesday morning.
