    City Delays Pool Opening

    0
By KMAN Staff on May 20, 2015 Local News, Manhattan

Manhattan’s Parks and Recreation Department will delay opening City Park Pool and Northview Pool until Monday due to health and comfort reasons. The delay is based on current water temperatures and the predicted forecast over Memorial Weekend.

CiCo Pool is on track to open on Saturday, May 30th. This pool will be utilized for lifeguard training that has been delayed due to poor weather conditions.

During the season, water parks will not open unless the temperature is 70 degrees with a clear sky, or 75 degrees with a cloudy sky. In case of adverse weather, the pools will close at the manager or head lifeguard’s discretion.

The City Park Splash Pad opened May 16th but will be closed through Saturday because of the cooler temperatures and rain forecasted. The splash pad may be open Sunday if the air temperature is warmer.
