Last Person Sentenced for Kidnapping Incident

By KMAN Staff on May 11, 2015 Riley County
GavelThe last individual charged in connection with the kidnapping incident that took place in October of last year in the 1300 block of Flint Hills Place, was sentenced in Riley County District Court Monday afternoon.
Appearing in Chief Judge, Meryl Wilson’s courtroom alongside his attorney, Brenda Jordan, was Ortegas Tune.
Tune declined the chance for final statement and no victims were present to be heard.
Jordan stated she would like the sentence to comply with the plea agreement, which asks for the high number on the highest charge of kidnapping with a firearm.  Jordan said Tune has “taken responsibility for this matter”.
Prosecuting State Attorney, Barry Disney requested the same as Jordan.
Wilson complied with the plea agreement, and sentenced Ortegas to 71 months, or just under six years, with the department of corrections.  He was also sentenced to 59 months, or just under five years, on each of the lesser charges:  kidnapping and aggravated robbery.  These two sentences will run concurrent with the primary offense.  He will also be credited the 213 days he has already served in jail.
The other three involved in this kidnapping incident:  Rasheed Wilson, Kenneth Mallet and Kaywaun Washington, have already received their sentences in Riley County Court.
