Several area FFA members participated in last week’s 87th Kansas FFA State Convention, held at the Kansas State University Campus.
Blue Valley/Randolph’s Kyle Apley completed his term as State FFA reporter, after helping lead the convention. Other local FFA members receiving recognition were Rock Creek’s Cassandra Ebert, who received a State FFA Degree. Ebert also was granted a National FFA foundation scholarship. Others receiving state FFA degrees were Blue Valley’s Hadyn Budenbender and Chase Carey.
Associate Professor in Animal Sciences and Industry at K-State, Dr. Terry Houser, was recognized during the Convention with the Honorary Kansas FFA Degree.
And participating in the State FFA Band were Manhattan’s Stormie Clemens and Kyndall Norris, and Blue Valley’s Caitlin McLean and Michael Olson.
Several Blue Valley FFA members won in the Animal Systems Division of the state agriscience fair during the convention, including Dalton Shanner, Tessa Henry, Megan Plummer, and Payton Horn.
