    One in custody after Aggieville shooting incident (VIDEO)

    UPDATED 6:50 a.m. Sunday-According to PIO Mat Droge, shots were fired in the 600 block of N 12th Street at around 1:20am.

    Officers on foot patrol responded immediately and gave chase to one male suspect, who was found to be in possession of a handgun.  After deploying a taser the suspect was taken into custody.  Droge also noted one adult male was transported to Via Christi Hospital with injuries that were non-life threatening.  That individual has already been released from medical care.

    Police do not anticipate further arrests, but encourage anyone with any more information on this incident to contact the Manhattan Riley County Crimestoppers.  Call 539-7777 or 800-222-TIPS, or text “TIP 353” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

    UPDATED 2:30 a.m.-Riley County Police Public Information officer Mat Droge reports that a suspect is in custody after a shooting incident early Sunday morning in Aggieville. More information is expected later this morning but RCPD would like to emphasize there is no danger to the community at this time. Below is our earlier story from when the first reports came in.

    There are not many details at this point but according to chatter from the scanner tuned into the Riley County Police Department, shots reportedly were fired in Aggieville just after 1 a.m. Sunday. Another report says that police had to taser at least one individual near Aggieville.

    Witnesses indicate there were “a couple of injuries” that resulted from the shots being fired but there’s not word on how serious those injuries are.

    Another report indicates authorities shut down 12th street between Moro and Laramie Streets in Aggieville.
