Officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to an altercation in the 1300 block of Central Park in Manhattan City Park Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:45. A 12-year-old male was taken into custody and ultimately transported to the North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Facility for the offenses of attempted aggravated battery, aggravated assault, criminal threat, and battery.
There were two victims included in this investigation– a 26-year-old female who sustained minor injury after a bite and a 12-year-old male with no injury. All subjects involved were known to each other. Officers found during the physical altercation the subject detained had brandished a sharp ink pen and threatened violence.

A 32-year-old Manhattan man faces several charges after an early morning arrest (Friday). Bryan Moore was taken into custody at about 2:15 a.m. (Friday) while in the 3400 block of Englewood Street.
Riley County Police indicate Moore was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, refusal to submit to an alcohol or drug test, tampering with an interlock device, and driving while suspended. Moore’s bond was set at $10,000.

Riley County Police arrested a Junction City man Thursday evening on a warrant for failure to appear. Richard Mickschl, 25, was taken into custody at about 7:45 PM. Mickschl was given “no bond” and at the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Jail.
