    Updated Noon Sunday:
Officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to the 200 block of Brooklawn Drive in Manhattan on June 7, 2015 at approximately 2:15 AM after receiving an emergent call for service involving a knife stab wound. Once on scene officers found that Harry Russom III, 36, of Manhattan had received injury to the torso following an argument involving Matthew Flerlage, 21, of Manhattan. Russom was transported to Via Christi Hospital for medical treatment of non-life threatening injury.

Flerlage was contacted by police and taken into custody at approximately 2:20 AM while in the 700 block of Allen Road. He was ultimately arrested for the offense of aggravated battery. Flerlage was given a bond of $10,000.00 and at the time of this release he was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.

The Riley County Police Department believes this incident to be isolated and have also begun an investigation into the offenses of criminal trespass and domestic battery involving a 35-year-old female victim (present at the time of this altercation). No arrests have been made for the offenses of domestic battery or criminal trespass at this time. Due to the nature of these crimes no further information has been released

RCPD first alerted the community to this incident and the arrest of a suspect early this morning through the use of social media (twitter.com/RileyCountyPD and facebook.com/RileyCountyPD).

Arrest information will be included in the Monday June 8, 2015 publication of “police activity” at www.RileyCountyPolice.org.
