The Kansas Highway Patrol responded Wednesday afternoon to a motorcycle accident west of Riley that claimed the life of a Herington man.
The patrol reports that 66-year old Larry Nice was traveling southbound on U.S. 77 near milepost 175 when his 2000 Kawasaki went off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck an embankment.
Nice was wearing a soft helmet and eye protection at the time of the accident.
No other vehicles were involved.
