As first reported Thursday afternoon by KMAN,  officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to a report of aggravated burglary and theft in the 700 block of Yuma involving elderly adult victims. Approximately $2,000 in US currency belonging to 3 elderly adult victims, ages 91, 96, and 95, was removed from a home after an unknown white male suspect described as approximately 6 feet tall and 185 pounds entered the home under false pretense.
The suspect told victims he was an employee of a gas company and was checking for gas leaks prior to taking possession of the money and fleeing from the home. The Public Information Officer of the Riley County Police Department has decided to withhold further victim information citing the Kansas Open Records Act .
RCPD asks anyone with information on the suspect in this case contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
