An accident on K-99 left two people injured and blocked traffic for several hours Sunday afternoon. Patrick Arrow, 21, and Kaytlan Tanner, 20, both of Louisville, were taken to the hospital following the accident reported shortly before 2:30 p.m. about a mile south of Wamego. Arrow was taken to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City and Tanner was taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka. Tanner was a passenger in Arrow’s vehicle.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Arrow was driving a ’98 Mitsubishi Eclipse northbound on K-99 when it went left of center and struck a 1980 GMC driven by Vicki Flattery, 60, of Onaga. Debris struck a third vehicle, a 2005 Buick Park Avenue driven by Dorothy Cox, 81, of Holton. Neither Flattery nor Cox were injured.
Traffic was detoured with K-99 closed for nearly four hours.
