After two years leading the “demon brigade,” Col. Matthew R. Lewis relinquished command of the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.
In a change of command ceremony at Fort Riley’s Calvary Parade Field, Lewis thanked his family and wife Anne, for being by his side and reflected on the brigade’s accomplishments.
Taking his place is Col. John M. Cyrulik, former director of evaluation and standardization at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
Lewis is slated to become the deputy commander of the Combat Readiness Center at Fort Rucker.
