    RCPD 6-15

    A Manhattan man faces a large bond following his arrest Wednesday night.  Christopher Williams, 43, was arrested by Riley County Police on a warrant for the offense of failure to appear at approximately 8:35 PM while in the 500 block of Moro Street. The warrant had an original offense of battery of a law enforcement officer. His bond is set at $10,000.

    A 27-year-old Manhattan man was arrested in the 4400 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. at approximately 2:05 PM on Wednesday on two warrants for failure to appear. The original offenses against Sylvester Calvert Jr. were possession of hallucinogenic drug and driving without a valid driver’s license. His bond is set at $5,200.

    A 52-year-old Manhattan man was arrested in the 2600 block of Fort Riley Blvd., Thursday, at approximately 7:20 PM following a traffic stop for a traffic violation. Wyota Clark was arrested on the offenses of possession of hallucinogenic drugs, possession of depressants, and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. She was given a bond of $11,000 and at the time of this report she was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. Arrested along with Clark was 48-year-old Manhattan resident Ronald Haas. Haas was arrested on the offenses of possession of a hallucinogenic drug and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. He was given a bond of $6,000 and at the time of this report was not confined.

    A Council Grove man was taken into custody by Riley County Police early Wednesday afternoon on a warrant for probation violation.  Derek Beerbower’s (30) original offense on the warrant was listed as motion to revoke probation for driving while suspended. Beerbower was given “no bond.”

    As KMAN reported Wednesday, Riley County Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle and bicyclist collision near the intersection of 17th Street and Poyntz at approximately noon. RCPD tweeted about the injury accident informing drivers of a delay in the area.
    Officers continue to investigate the collision and at the time of this report no further information was available. The bicyclist, a 14-year-old male, was transported to Via Christi for complaint of shoulder pain.

    Riley County Police Officers responded to a burglary in the 3000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. at approximately 7:20 AM on Wednesday for an incident that occurred the night prior. Harlan Bryan, 45, of Manhattan reported her 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan was taken from her residence.
    The vehicle was later located and recovered by officers and the estimated cost of damage found was $7,312. RCPD continues to investigate this crime and asks that anyone with information contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
