The well-known four-legged former Riley County Police K-9 Officer Dino has died. Riley County Police  Friday morning announced in a news release,” with a heavy heart the Riley County Police Department announces the passing of K9 Dino after he experienced deteriorating health issues due to his age.” KMAN did a story at the time when Dino retired in December of last year after a career of 11 years serving the Manhattan and Riley County community. He spent his retirement at home with his handler, Officer Aaron Wright and family.

Dino, alongside Officer Wright, was a key part of numerous drug investigations and helped the department seize over 16,200 grams of illegal drugs as well help effect 435 arrests (since 2006).
