Two inmates with Geary County convictions face public comment sessions and subsequent parole hearings the next few months.

Alex Mackey, 56, is serving time on convictions including drug possession, theft, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery in four different counties from 1983 to 2002. The Geary County conviction is for theft and was Mackey’s first reported conviction in 1983. His earliest possible release date is October first. Mackey is being held in Hutchinson.

Public comment sessions for Mackey and several other inmates will be August 19th at the Derby Police and Courts building, August 21st at the Topeka Municipal Court House, and August 24th at Kansas City’s City Hall.

September public comment sessions include Charles Hargrove, 43, who is being held on Geary County convictions of voluntary manslaughter and manufacturing drugs. Hargrove’s cases occurred in 1990 and 1992 and his earliest possible release date is November first. He’s being held in Hutchinson.

Those sessions will be September ninth in Derby, September 18th in Topeka, and September 28th in Kansas City.

Letters may also be sent to the Kansas Department of Corrections in Topeka.
