    A Manhattan man has been arrested on a warrant from the Department of Homeland Security.  Nemesio Fermin, 26, was taken into custody by the Riley County Police Department Saturday night shortly  before 10:30 while at the Riley County Police Department Law Enforcement Center.
    Fermin was arrested on the warrant from Homeland Security with “no bond” attached to it. At the time of this report he was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.
    KMAN is attempting to get further information on this arrest from local officials with the  Department of Homeland Security.

    KMAN has more information regarding an arrest we earlier reported on.  Joseph Lopez, 33, who is listed as homeless but from the Concordia area, was taken into custody near the intersection of Moro and 12th Streets in Manhattan for several offenses to include computer crime, criminal use of a financial card, attempted theft, criminal deprivation of property, and interference with law enforcement.Lopez’ bond was set at $6,500. Officers had been contacted by Ashtyn Shepard, 26, of Concordia while in the 500 block of North Manhattan Avenue, who told police Lopez was in possession of her financial card. Lopez was arrested after a very short foot pursuit.

    A Fort Riley man faces charges following an incident in the 1100 block of Moro early Sunday morning. Gregory Scott, 23, was taken into custody for the offenses of battery of a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest at about 2:35 a.m.Scott’s bond was set at $3,000.

    Riley County Police indicate they contacted Scott during a heated verbal argument and were met with physical force while attempting to calm Scott and the situation. A taser electronic control device was deployed. No injuries were listed on the report.

    The Kansas Highway Patrol arrested a 58-year-old Salina man on I-70 at mile marker 319 near Manhattan Sunday night. Steve Herron was taken into custody at 6:30 p.m.Charges include interference with law enforcement and drug-related charges. Herron was taken to the Riley County Jail and bond was set at $6,000.
