    Members of the Riley County Police Department Bomb Team with the assistance of the Fort Riley EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) collected and removed a military grade smoke-bomb from a residence in the 3100 block of Heritage Lane in Manhattan Tuesday afternoon. Police indicate they did not find any dangers to the surrounding community.

    A Winchester woman was arrested Tuesday by Riley County Police on a variety of charges.  Holly McDaniel, 24, was taken into custody on a warrant for aggravated interference with parental custody, domestic battery, and criminal damage to property while in the 2600 block of Kimball Avenue at approximately 5:00 PM. McDaniel was issued a bond of $5,000.

    Riley County Police arrested a Manhattan man on several drug-related charges Tuesday night.  Daniel Smith, 37, was taken into custody at about 8:30 PM while in the 800 block of Fremont Street’s South Alley for several charges including the offenses of possession of a stimulant, possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic, or certain stimulant, distribution or possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia for illegal use, and driving while a habitual violator, Smith’s bond was set at $13,000.
