    Weekend Accidents

    Several accidents were reported in the Manhattan area this past long weekend, with a Denver woman taken to Via Christit Hospital in Manhattan following a Monday morning accident on westbound I-70, 1.7 miles west of Tallgrass road.  Jennifer Kukoy, 36, was a passenger in a 2014 Subaru passenger car driven by  Jonna Lafoy, 31, also of Denver. The vehicle went off the road into the median and across the westbound lanes, into a north ditch, struck a rock ledge, and went airborn about 50 feet through a K-Dot fence, coming to rest on its wheels in a pasture. The accident was reported just before eight a.m.
    In Geary County,  Katelyn Sanchez, 21, of Inman and  Brenton Nixon, 23, of California were both taken to Geary Community Hospital following an accident on eastbound I-70 nearly five miles east of highway 77. That accident was reported at seven p.m, and reportedly occurred when the 2008 Honda Civic Sanchez was driving hydroplaned.
    And  a 36-year-old Wamego man died in a fatal accident near Topeka Saturday afternoon. Ryan Scott died in the crash when a 2004 Chevrolet four-door was eastbound in the westbound lane and struck his 2003 Honda motorcycle.
    KMAN told you earlier of a rollover fatality  early Sunday in Pottawatomie county involving Colby Mathies, 27, of Manhattan .
