A 21-year-old Wichita man has waived his preliminary hearing in Pottawatomie County District Court on theft and obstruction charges. James Shirley was arrested earlier this month following a stolen vehicle case reported in the Oak View area of St. George. Shirley’s status hearing has been set for September 29th.
Shirley and Dalton Flax, 19, also of Wichita, were both taken into custody in the case, with bond set at $50,000 each. The two reportedly were in the 2012 Chevy Camaro which was stolen early September third and were driving at a high speed on Highway 24. The vehicle was later abandoned near Vineyard Road and White Tale Lane with the two taken into custody a short time later.
