An Alta Vista man died in a two vehicle accident in near-by Morris County Sunday afternoon.  Robert Ziegenhirt, 66, was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the accident on K-177, three-tenths of a mile south of F Avenue, reported a few minutes after four p.m. Sunday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a 1999 Nissan Maxima driven by Julie Fay, 19, of Emporia was travelling southbound, with a 2002 Ford F-150 driven by Glenna Ziegenhirt, 61, of Alta Vista travelling northbound on K-177. Fay’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck Ziegenhirt’s Ford.
Glenna Ziegenhirt was taken to Morris County Hospital, with Robert Ziegenhirt taken to Wesley Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Fay was taken to Stormont-Vail. All three had seat belts on.
