Pott Co Sheriff Patch
A Thursday accident in Pottawatomie County sent two people to the hospital, including one who was life-flighted to a Topeka facility. Sheriff Greg Riat announced Friday afternoon that at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday,  the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, and Fire and Rescue responded to a two vehicle motor vehicle accident just east of the intersection of Salzer Road and Highway 24.
A red Chevy Cobalt driven by Raymond Brase of Wamego was westbound on Highway 24, making a left turn off of Highway 24 onto Salzer Road. When the Cobalt was crossing the eastbound lane of 24, it was struck by an East bound Ford Taurus on Highway 24, driven by Jim Burns from Wamego.
Burns was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A passenger in the Cobalt, Carole Brase was life flighted to a Topeka Hospital. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. The accident is under investigation at this time.
