    RCPD Report 10/14/2015

    Officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to a vehicle and pedestrian collision near the intersection of Vattier Street and Juliette Street in Manhattan on October 12, 2015 at approximately 1:00 PM. Officers on scene found that a 2008 Chevy 1500 driven by Christopher Glover, 22, of Riley, Kansas struck Ashleigh Lawson, 21, of Manhattan who was crossing the street in an area not marked for pedestrian traffic. Lawson was transported to Via Christi Hospital for complaint of what appeared to be non-life threatening back pain. Glover was issued a citation for inattentive driving and Lawson was issued a citation for improper pedestrian crossing.

    Patrick Wahl, 30, of Hutchinson, Kansas was arrested on October 13, 2015 at approximately 2:10 PM while at the Riley County Police Department. Wahl was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear with an original offense of unlawfully obtaining a prescription. He was given a bond of $20,000.00 and at the time of this report Wahl was confined.

    A burglary report was filed in the 1800 block of Fort Riley Blvd. on October 13, 2015 at approximately 2:15 PM. Police found that Ruth Adams, 39, of Manhattan had become the victim of burglary when several items were removed from her home without permission. These items included speakers, an Xbox, PS4, a hard drive, and head phones valued at approximately $1,500.00. This crime is reported as happening in the afternoon on the same day as the report while the victim has left her home for a short period of time.     Larry Patrick, 68, of Ogden, Kansas was arrested on October 13, 2015 at approximately 9:00 PM after police responded to a physical altercation in the 100 block of 10th Street in Ogden, Kansas. Patrick was arrested and given a bond of $12,000.00 for the offense of aggravated battery after the physical altercation led to a broken nose sustained by the victim. Police listed the victim as being Ross Bennett, 62, of Manhattan, Kansas.
