Periods of freezing rain and rain will continue across the area into Sunday. In areas at or below freezing (approximately left of the yellow dashed line on the map), this will add to an already bad situation as ice over the past several days in addition to the new accumulation is causing tree and power line damage. The area of showers is likely to pesist into the daytime with a gradual eastward shift while temperatures are expected to warm very slowly through the day…likely shifting the freezing line a bit farther to the west with time.

Westar Energy is reporting power outages in the Manhattan/Junction City area, with 1,774 without power in Riley County Sunday morning, 1,509 in Geary County, and 76 in Pottawatomie County.
